Visiting Phi Beta Kappa Scholar Amy Cheng Vollmer will present “What Bacteria Can Teach Us About Stress Response.”

Cheng Vollmer is Isaac H. Clothier Jr. Professor of Biology at Swarthmore, where she has helped to create initiatives to promote adult science literacy as well as to increase access to and success in STEM fields for a diverse student population. Her teaching includes microbiology, biotechnology, metabolism, and introductory biology; and her research focuses on the regulation of the response of bacteria to environmental stress. This event is free and open to the public.
